Life Story Writing
No one can write your story as you can. Never let anyone tell you otherwise.
You do not have to write your entire life story but remember everyone has a story worth sharing and we all learn from one another's stories.
Telling stories can even bring back great memories. For the elderly, the chance to tell their stories is known to improve cognition, lessen depression and even improve functioning and self-esteem. Let's not lose the valuable connection to our histories and the stories from those important people in our lives. Encourage seniors to tell their life stories so they can be passed down through the generations.
There are so many parts of life that can be recorded for posterity. The serious events in your life such as the birth of your child, the way you met your spouse and even the loss of a loved one are things that should have a chapter in your life story. Other chapters can be funny, or even a little embarrassing like memories shared with a sibling or first attempts at learning to drive. In looking back, and recording those memories, and writing your life story you can look ahead and connect to the future generations.
It’s the “Write Time”!
